#RemakeLearning @ #CLS2018

What happens when a few dozen Pittsburgher's swarm Cambridge, MA for a week in August?

Last week, more than twenty Remake Learning network members attended the Connected Learning Summit at MIT Media Lab in Cambridge, MA.  The summit (#CLS2018 on Twitter) brings together educators, designers, researchers, and developers from around the world. Everyone at the summit is interested in the intersection of digital media, youth culture, and learning. As the conference literature has it, the gathering is for “innovators harnessing emerging technology to expand access to participatory, playful, and creative learning.”

Remake Learning members led no fewer than 7 scheduled sessions at the conference where they shared insights and learnings from their work to advance engaging, relevant, and equitable learning here in the Pittsburgh region. Among the highlights, network member Michelle King (AKA the Learning Instigator) brought the house down during the Friday keynote:

Michelle clearly made an impact. What else stuck out to #CLS2018 attendees? Let’s check the Twitter record.

Thanks again to everyone who joined us in Cambridge. We’re excited to return and share our learning with the rest of the network. Look for more soon!P.S. Are you going to an education conference this year and are wondering who else from Pittsburgh might be attending? Let us know by emailing info@remakelearning.org.
