Avonworth School District is truly dedicated to its mission to empower students through authentic experiences to become innovative, creative thinkers. The District educates more than 1,400 students in grades K-12 and employs approximately 119 professional staff members, and is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Our curriculum framework is based upon “Differentiated Instruction,” a personalized approach to student learning using various teaching processes for students of differing abilities within the same classroom.
The District is 8 miles northwest of downtown Pittsburgh and encompasses a land area of 10.54 square miles in the Boroughs of Ben Avon, Ben Avon Heights, and Emsworth, along with Ohio and Killbuck Townships. The region is a diverse socio-economic area with a population under 10,000.
