CMU STEAM Outreach to Pittsburgh Elementary Schools (K-5)
This is a free opportunity for PGH schools within a 15-20 minute car ride of Carnegie Mellon University.
Carnegie Mellon University has a lot of inspirational graduate engineering students, who are enthusiastic and excited about STEAM (especially engineering) outreach!
If you are interested in having CMU students visit your classroom, either to support an upcoming lesson, or to bring an NGSS STEAM activity, coding activity, or engineering activity to your students, please fill out our google form! As former K-12 teachers ourselves, we are looking forward to working together with you in order to support our local Pittsburgh area teachers, and K-12 students interested in engineering.
For K-5 classrooms, we will continue to bring lessons that support Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, and Engineering. We are partnered with UC Berkeley and Community Resources for Science, in Berkeley, CA, and can provide any of the K-5 lessons found here: https://crscience.org/outreach/lessonarchive/, with enough lead time to gather materials if it is a lesson that we have not yet built out.
