Global Learning for a Local Workforce is a professional development opportunity for middle and high school educators, counselors, and administrators who are interested in bringing career-connected learning and future readiness to their students. Educators from all content areas are encouraged to participate!
Through the program, you will…
Gain insights on workforce readiness to help students build relevant durable and technical skills.
Apply new resources to create subject-specific content that meets district needs.
Engage students in meaningful, real-world learning experiences.
Form partnerships with local employers, connect with national organizations, and build networks with other educational and community leaders.
Encourage students to explore and think critically about global issues.
The program is offered at no cost to middle and high school teachers, counselors, and administrators in IU1 & IU7 (Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland County school districts) with a special focus on rural schools. Select schools from the Mon Valley (Allegheny County) and West Virginia are also invited to participate. District teams of 2 or more are encouraged to register.
Act 48 credit is available for PA educators.
