Rick Walsh

Dr. Rick Walsh, a 1987 Plum High School graduate, has over 30 years of experiences working for children in public education. His experiences include leading the development and implementation of K-12 curriculum, strategic district-wide initiatives, safety planning, technology integration, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) that focused on the whole child. During his tenure(s) as an administrator in multiple school districts, he was able to significantly improve student achievement levels that resulted in external acknowledgments and validation at the local, state and national levels. His accolades include the 2014 United States Department of Education National Blue Ribbon for Exemplary High Performance, 2018 United States Department of Education Green Ribbon, and he also received the Pennsylvania Department of Education Keystone Excellence Award. Prior to going into administration, Dr. Walsh served as a results-oriented elementary teacher and a highly successful volleyball coach in the Mt. Lebanon School District. He also has served as an adjunct professor at Duquesne University in the College of Education where he taught classes on middle-level education in the areas of English Language Arts with a focus on writing instruction. Goal: To create an environment that fosters academic success and enables the whole child to reach their potential. His return is personally meaningful for it allows him to give back to the community that provided him with an excellent start in life.
