Moses Wamalwa is the Youth Engagement Project Manager at Grounded Strategies, where he leads initiatives that connect young people to climate action, land stewardship, and community transformation across Pittsburgh. With over a decade of experience in youth leadership and community development, he specializes in designing programs that blend environmental education, creative expression, and hands-on learning. His work focuses on empowering youth to co-create sustainable futures through projects that transform vacant lots into vibrant community assets. Moses’s professional and academic background bridges social work, philosophy, and food studies, with a deep interest in how culture, creativity, and sustainability intersect. Through his role, he collaborates with partners in the Remake Learning network to build pathways for young people to engage in green careers, storytelling, and civic innovation. His ultimate goal is to help youth see themselves as builders of the future—equipped with the skills, confidence, and imagination to lead change in their communities.
