Laurie Carr

Laurie Carr is a lifelong K12 educator with 30 years of experience, most recently having served in the position of Chief of Schools. She currently leads work within Generation Citizen, a non-profit which supports middle and high school teachers in facilitating experiential, community-based civics. Generation Citizen provides professional development, up to biweekly coaching (virtually with some in person visits), and a supplemental PA standards aligned curriculum. We are currently supporting schools in Philadelphia and expanding throughout the state, and Generation Citizen would be thrilled to support the work of Remake Learning within Pittsburgh-area middle and high schools. Our organization also has a policy & advocacy arm through which we work with local and state government to support legislation around youth voice and K12 civics education.
