
Jason Méndez
Dr. Jason C. Méndez is a storyteller, global educator, and innovation strategist with over 20 years of experience in arts-based inquiry and narrative-driven research. He collaborates across public, private, and nonprofit sectors to design creative strategies that advance equity and justice through storytelling and digital media literacy. As Co-founder and Executive Director of Block Chronicles, he leads initiatives that address social determinants of health through digital literacy, the arts, and community-based research. Jason also founded the Pittsburgh-Latinx Artist Residency (P-LAR), supporting Latinx artists in Allegheny County in partnership with Casa San José.
With a PhD in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MFA in Creative Writing from Randolph College, his work explores themes of identity, place, and social change. His writing appears in both creative and academic publications, including Poetry Magazine, Health Promotion Practice, and The Urban Review. Within Remake Learning, Jason brings his expertise to collaborative, arts-centered learning experiences that uplift marginalized voices and reimagine what equitable education can look like. His passion lies in building spaces where storytelling becomes a powerful tool for connection, healing, and transformation.
