I am the founder and president of the Chinese Library for Children (CLC), a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit dedicated to expanding equitable access to Chinese-language children’s literature. My work focuses on building a community-based learning ecosystem that integrates book gifting, storytime programs, neighborhood mini-libraries, and public-facing cultural events to support early childhood language development and cultural identity.
I am particularly interested in how informal learning spaces—such as libraries, community programs, family networks, and hands-on cultural experiences—can complement formal education and create more engaging and inclusive learning opportunities for young children. Through CLC, I collaborate with local libraries, educators, and families to design programs that are both culturally responsive and accessible to diverse communities.
By joining Remake Learning, I hope to connect with other educators and innovators, share insights from building a grassroots literacy and cultural learning initiative, and explore new partnerships that can expand cross-cultural learning opportunities for children and families.
