
Gary Peiffer
Dr. Peiffer is the superintendent of the Chartiers-Houston School District and earned his doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to serving at Chartiers-Houston, Dr. Peiffer was the superintendent at the Greensburg Salem and Carlynton School Districts and began his administrative career at East Allegheny. As superintendent, Dr. Peiffer has worked to bring learning opportunities and high expectations for all students in an inclusive welcoming environment. Dr. Peiffer has incorporated many STEAM initiatives at the different school districts he was at including the development of a maker space, partnering with Project Lead the Way, partnering with Coursera to provide micro credentials to students, implementing a K-6 STEAM program, eSports, NoRilla, and the LU interactive system. Dr. Peiffer's philosophy in education is that all learners should have the opportunity to engage with technology and interactive instructional methods and that education should always be moving forward in its delivery of competencies, skill sets, and knowledge. Dr. Peiffer would like to get his students and staff involved in Remake Learning activities and learning networks. Dr. Peiffer lives with his wife Marissa and is father to his daughter Elena and stepsons Eric and Charlie, as well as their dog Ohana.
