Evon Walters serves as the Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Community Engagement at the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC). With prior leadership roles as President, Campus CEO, and Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, he brings a seasoned perspective to advancing student success. A 2020 recipient of Phi Theta Kappa’s Paragon Award and an American Council on Education Fellow, he is a recognized voice in post-secondary access, workforce development, and equity in education. Over the past six years, he has presented nationally and published extensively on the role of community colleges in expanding opportunities for historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students. At CCAC, he has led key initiatives and partnerships with regional organizations such as the Northside/Shore Chamber of Commerce, Carnegie Mellon University’s Center for Shared Prosperity, local school districts, and community-based organizations. Nationally, his work has been aligned with entities including the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Verizon Foundation. He currently serves on the American Association of Community Colleges’ Commission on Structured Pathways
