landscapes to actively guide communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking. By prompting kids to explain their choices dynamically through play, the curriculum nurtures vital early speech, cognitive development, and social-emotional wellness.
As a member of the Remake Learning Network, Candace aims to scale play-centered equity across Western PA by connecting with local educators, school administrators, early childhood providers, and foundation coordinators. Candace Kantz is a community advocate, entrepreneur, and marketing executive with over 30 years of strategic planning experience. In 2022, she translated her leadership into grassroots impact by launching the non-profit organization The Andrew Effect. Inspired by her late cousin Andrew, Candace built the organization to protect vulnerable youth. Her objective is ensuring financial barriers never prevent a child from accessing enriching, high-quality play. The Andrew Effect fosters curiosity and self-esteem by providing children in need with toys, books, and educational programming. The non-profit steps in to bridge the gap for families experiencing financial hardship outside standard school hours. Her innovative alignment with Remake Learning introduces Structured Dramatic Play Centers directly into local elementary schools. These custom installations are active in both Seneca Valley and Butler Area School Districts. The interactive layouts simulate real-world scenarios like grocery markets, post offices, and builders' stations. Students assume collaborative roles while teachers utilize the curated landscapes to guide critical thinking. The play-centered curriculum actively nurtures early speech, cognitive growth, and social-emotional wellness. As a network member, Candace aims to scale play-centered equity by connecting with regional educators.
