Amanda Gornic

Amanda Gornic is an educator who works to foster equitable opportunities for students from all backgrounds. Her mission revolves around mitigating the impact of poverty on literacy development through the integration of evidence-based practices in adolescent literacy, social-emotional learning, and centering instruction on relevant content that ignites curiosity. Amanda currently serves as a secondary Literacy Coach at Reach Cyber Charter School, where she collaborates with educators and caregivers to equip them with the essential knowledge and skills to effectively support their students. This includes embracing and anticipating that learners have different needs. Amanda recently created a blog called 2ndary Literacy Lab, where she shares her ongoing efforts to develop synchronous and asynchronous content aimed at enhancing world knowledge, expanding vocabulary, and promoting expertise in reading and writing.
