National Moonshot Grants
The National Moonshot funding round is currently open and accepting applications. Contact tyler@remakelearning.org to express your interest.
In May 2024, hundreds of educational leaders convened in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for Forge Futures, a national summit on community-wide learning ecosystems. National Moonshot Grants are an opportunity to carry the visions developed during the summit forward into reality.
National Moonshot Grants challenge applicants to envision their preferred future of learning—what they hope learning will look like ten to twenty years in the future. Successful applications will:
- Prioritize bold experimentation
- Incorporate collaboration with multiple organizations
- Lift up marginalized populations
- Explicitly tie to ideas surfaced at Forge Futures
Funding
Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded to successful applicants.
- Up to 3 awards will be made to applicants based in southwestern Pennsylvania
- Up to 7 awards will be made to applicants based elsewhere in the United States
- Up to 1 award will be made to applicants worldwide
Eligibility
To be eligible for a National Moonshot Grant, applications must:
- Be submitted by the person who was in attendance at Forge Futures.
- Come from a charitable or non-governmental organization. U.S.-based applicants must be registered, 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organizations. You may have other entities and individuals in your application, but the applicant must be one of the entities listed above.
Applications should aim to test prototypes developed at Forge Futures in real-life settings.
Information Sessions
Information Sessions will help applicants better understand the RFP process, brainstorm and craft project ideas, and provide ample time for discussion and questions.
