Civic Learning for a Thriving Future
Civic Learning EcosystemPowered by Remake LearningHow can learning prepare young people to shape their lives, their communities, and what comes next?
The caring adults in young people’s lives have a responsibility to listen to them and to connect better with one another, so we can unlock what’s possible for community-connected learning across Pittsburgh. During this event we’ll do both and together, we’ll explore how learner agency, civic engagement, community-based learning, and future-ready skills help young people build the capacity and confidence to contribute to a thriving society.
What to Expect
- Young people leading the way. Teens share what it means to have a meaningful role in shaping their communities, then facilitate table conversations where attendees imagine what’s possible together.
- Civic thriving in practice. Learning leaders show what this work looks like in Pittsburgh classrooms and communities.
- New relationships, new opportunities. A structured networking experience helps educators and community partners learn what each needs and offers, and find ways to collaborate in and outside the classroom.
- A shared path forward. A conversation about the learning experiences, evidence, and investments needed to bring these opportunities to more young people.
You’ll Leave With
- New connections across schools, organizations, and youth voices
- Fresh ideas for community-connected learning experiences
- A clearer, shared vision for civic learning in Pittsburgh
