PitchIt! Student Essay Contest

Looking for a way to support your students’ media and news literacy learning? Would you like to give them a wider platform for sharing their ideas?

Announcing … the PitchIt! Student Essay Contest.

PitchIt! offers a bit of everything: a way to get students excited about engaging with current events, a friendly writing competition (with prizes!),a public speaking opportunity for finalists in front of a panel of journalists, AND an opportunity for you to embed news literacy concepts into your teaching (it’s like sneaking in vegetables for a healthy diet).

Winners (students and teachers) receive a $100 grand prize. There are also first-, second- and third-place prizes for $75, $50 and $25.

The submission deadline is March 1, 2024.
