Founded in 2010, Digital Salad provides a mix of interactive art projects, technology and project documentation, and farm education to produce interactive learning experiences for schools and other community spaces and neighborhoods. Started as a collaboration between media artist, Heather Mallak, and farmer, Tara Rockacy of Churchview, it has now expanded to include Chef  Kate Romane of E2 in Pittsburgh with programming presented at The Mattress Factory, Assemble, and Winchester Thurston School, to name a few venues. Students interacting with the group are provided the opportunity to experience an actual or virtual farm experience and then are able to artfully record their observations.
