The Community Innovation and Training for Youth (CITY) program at Penn State Center Pittsburgh is an after-school program that works with at-risk high school students, using STEAM education, entrepreneurship, and mentoring to help students develop the skills that they will need in order to be successful both in and out of the classroom. Through their time in the CITY program, students explore a variety of post-secondary education and career options, including pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree, enrolling in a technical school, exploring an entrepreneurial endeavor, or apprenticing with one of the more than 30 unions in the Pittsburgh region.
