Debralyn Woodberry-Shaw, MSW, LSW is currently in the PhD program at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education. She is studying race-based and developmental trauma in out-of-school learning environments and professional development experiences for youth workers. Debralyn obtained her Master’s in Social Work degree with a Children, Youth, and Families Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh. After graduating with her MSW, Debralyn founded ELIE Circle, LLC – an education, consulting, and training business that equips individuals and organizations to create Trauma-Informed Communities. Her training materials are grounded in research and her personal experiences.

Debralyn is passionate about spreading this knowledge to entities that work closely with young people but are not formally trained in child development and trauma work. Through her role as a contracted trainer for Allegheny Partners for Out-of-School Time (APOST), she is certified as a Youth Work Methods Series trainer and a Simple Interaction facilitator. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Science degree from The Ohio State University.
