Ms. Torpie-Sweterlitsch holds a master of arts in Environmental Anthropology and is a doctoral candidate at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Her teaching experience has taken her to Costa Rica, where she taught a field course on human/primate interaction at the Maderas Rainforest Conservancy. Ms. Torpie-Sweterlitsch also has experience in animal husbandry, having cared for mammals including primates, bears, and large cats. Her background in research, application, and teaching gives her a unique perspective as she leads educational programming at the National Aviary.
