Kevin Schaude works at the Imani Christian Academy in Wilkinsburg, PA. He teaches Middle School Social Studies to a group of wonderful students. Imani Christian Academy is dedicated to serving historically underserved communities on the east side of Pittsburgh.  Kevin shares that commitment and focus on the well-being of the whole student. He believes that Social Studies maintains a unique position to encourage children to engage in critical thinking through various modes of inquiry. History enfolds each person on a daily level, providing often unseen context to the world. Through social studies, students have the opportunity to make sense of the structures in their community and also become empowered to create change. Kevin also believes that learning is best achieved by doing and is searching for new ideas in experiential learning and project-based assessments.
