Ms. Laura Renninger is an English Language Arts teacher with a passion for awareness. She believes that increasing awareness of social, environmental, and global issues is the best way to ensure that students become active and engaged global citizens. The ELA classroom has a unique advantage: it is highly versatile. Ms. Renninger believes that ELA teachers teach skills that can be applied to any genre, mode, or medium. This allows the inclusion of many differing voices to reach students, allowing them to shape their own understanding and opinions on issues and topics. She is concerned with creating and inspiring global citizenship and autonomy in her classroom.
