Staci Offutt is an artist living and working in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She has been creating and directing educational programs and cultural events and stewarding funding to implement those opportunities for over 20 years. She currently manages an artist residency and the youth maker program Startable at AlphaLab Gear, a hardware and robotics accelerator. She is also the Project Director for Fiberart International, a triennial exhibition that showcases global trends in contemporary art rooted in traditional fiber materials and processes.

Offutt has directed a multitude of community-driven initiatives, including annual National Robotics Week programs, the Community Party for Knit the Bridge, and the Rec2Tech program focused on Tech Solutions for Greener Living in collaboration with Remake Learning. She has served on the board of West Virginia’s Destination Imagination, a creative problem-solving organization, as well as the Fiber Arts Guild Board of Directors, where she served as the Board President. She currently serves on the board for Communitopia, a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to slow climate change and create healthier communities.

Recently she completed Penn State Extension’s Master Gardener certification and enjoys tending to her rain garden and growing collection of carnivorous plants with her children. Offutt has a passion for creating authentic, innovative, and equitable opportunities that improve education outcomes, provide visibility to underrepresented groups and elevate the voices and ideas of others. She enjoys all the parts of making a multifaceted project come together, especially community and relationship building. Offutt has a BFA from West Virginia University and an MFA from Parsons, The New School.
