Cindy Michelini is an Elementary School Teacher serving the Butler Area School District, and considers maker education as a driving force for teaching and learning in today’s world. Since 2003, she has provided engaging learning opportunities to her students through inquiry-based science lessons, and more recently, with use of the Makerspace she created in her current elementary school. She is the recipient of various grants focusing on creative learning, many of which were awarded through the district’s Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation. Cindy also recently received an Ignite Grant through the Remake Learning Network that continued the development of her school’s Makerspace. The focus through it all remains the same: to amplify student engagement opportunities to make learning meaningful.
