Jennifer Meccariello Layman is Partnership Director for the Student Conservation Association (SCA), the nation’s oldest and largest conservation service organization. Jenn’s work for SCA blurs the lines between advancement, business development and community development with the goal of empowering SCA staff to deliver high-quality environmental education, conservation, and workforce development programming to Pittsburgh’s urban youth. Since 2000, SCA’s Pittsburgh office has engaged high school students in conservation work in the city’s parks and greenspaces, fighting against nature deficit in our kids and helping them to develop 21st century work skills through SCA’s continuum of conservation experiences in the Pittsburgh region.
With a background in writing, marketing, fundraising, lobbying and activism, Jenn brings diverse experiences to the field of environmental education and workforce development. She is passionate about connecting kids to nature and STEM experiences and is always looking for way to incorporate conservation technologies into that work.
