Mary Manges is the Director of Education at Fort Ligonier. A former classroom teacher, she left the traditional classroom after 18 years and turned to the world of informal learning at a museum and historic site where she has led her staff to make the story of Fort Ligonier relevant, meaningful, and engaging.

She has done many presentations and professional development workshops at the local and state level on topics ranging from literacy to history, including her favorite presentation ever, “Oh no! There’s an Algebra Class in my Fort!” She loves the challenge of developing and implementing programs that are “out of the box” but still within the mission of Fort Ligonier’s education department.
