Sahaar Lyles is the Editor In Chief of Nubian Impulse Magazine. Inspired to create her own platform for people of color to tell their own stories, she developed the online magazine as an alternative to common narratives about minority groups and cultures in America. Coming from a mixed background of part Ghanian and Native American roots, it was imperative for her to develop a bridge between her worlds and many others within the diaspora.

When Sahaar isn’t designing or curating a new collection to feature in magazine’s Nubian Impulse Shop, she is writing music. Sahaar began playing the piano at the age of 5 and fell in love with creating experiences and emotions with sound. Under the label ‘Level Up Music Group’ she will be releasing a new project summer 2020.
