Erika Klose is an Assistant Director in the Office of Middle and Secondary Learning for the West Virginia Department of Education, where she coordinates STEM, GIS, and Computer Science, in addition to other initiatives. A trained geologist, she is the current president of the West Virginia Science Teachers Association. Klose recently completed ten years teaching seventh grade science. Klose is a National Board Certified Teacher. In 2017, she received the Milken Educator Award and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching.

Klose currently serves on the Remake Learning Council.
