Lora (Lo) Zemanek is originally from Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Energy, Business and Finance.
Before joining Venture Outdoors in March 2015, Lora taught 6th-8th grade math in South Carolina for two years through AmeriCorps’ Teach for America program. She has also had experience as a 6th grade science teacher in Austin, TX for one year, as well as an environmental educator with Nature’s Classroom in Boston, MA. Lora enjoys working with children of all ages and loves having the opportunity to see kids interact, play and learn outside of the classroom.
She is CPR and First Aid certified, has attended the Children & Nature Network’s Natural Leaders Legacy Camp, and has completed an American Canoe Association Adaptive Paddling Workshop. Lora is also a Leave No Trace Master Educator. She loves running, gardening, biking around the city, and strolling through the beautiful Allegheny Cemetery.
