Becky is the Director of Outreach for the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. She oversees the core missions of Pitt Bio Outreach, which aims to connect the research community at Pitt with the K-12 community. This includes the design and implementation of teacher professional development, the summer research program Gene Team, and the Pitt Kits curriculum and equipment loan program. She is committed to making science hands-on, fun, and accessible to all learners.
Becky got her Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from Westminster College and her Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at the University of Pittsburgh. She has worked with Pitt Bio Outreach since 2011.
