Kristen Golomb is the Director of Innovation and Partnerships for Propel Schools. Since joining the Propel Team in 2005, Kristen has designed and implemented curriculum while creating professional learning opportunities in Science and Technology for K-12 scholars and educators. She also manages a diverse group of over 40 regional partners and various STEAM innovation based grants throughout our 13 schools. The partnerships and grant funding support real world application and collaborative opportunities for Propel students, including STEAM design thinking competitions, Project Based Learning and career exploration experiences.
Through the school based initiatives such as school based K-4 Integration, Middle School 4C Studios, Google for Education and Digital Promise/Verizon Innovation Learning Schools, Kristen builds a cohesive STEAM program that enables all educators and scholars to work toward 21st Century Learning Goals and Application.
Kristen Golomb was named one of 20 National Chevrolet Green Educators. That same year, she was a recipient of the PA Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence, in recognition of the sunflower gardens created in partnership with GTECH at Propel Braddock Hills location. In 2014, she was a 40 Under 40 recipient for Pittsburgh Magazine. Ms. Golomb is a graduate of University of Pittsburgh and is a member of the National Science Teachers Association, Remake Learning Initiative, Pittsburgh STEM Ecosystem and is Co-Founder of Pittsburgh Science Teacher Network.
