Sherry Durigon is a southwestern Pennsylvania native who enjoys serving the students and families of her alma mater. She earned her BS of Ed from Indiana University of PA and her Master of Ed K-8 STEM from California University of PA. With over 25 years as an experienced educator in her home district, Sherry currently serves as the elementary STEM teacher at the Greater Latrobe School District where she delivers Project Lead the Way curriculum to all students in grades 1, 3 and 5 across the three elementary buildings. Hands-on, inquiry-based, meaning-making education is her passion which she enjoys sharing with students and teachers alike.
She has worked to lead the development and facilitation of her district’s annual summer STEM experience: the STEMtacular Makeathon, and regularly works with educators both in and outside of her district on building STEM-based collaborative relationships and activities. Sharing new, relevant technologies and activities with the district’s students and teachers and building that same passion in others is a personal and professional goal that she works to achieve.
