Melissa Butler is a teacher in Pittsburgh Public Schools currently working on special assignment with the Office of Information and Technology. She co-directs Children’s Innovation Project with Jeremy Boyle.

Previously, Melissa was a Kindergarten teacher at Pittsburgh Allegheny K-5 where she and Jeremy Boyle started the Children’s Innovation Project in 2010. Melissa has a Masters Degree in Curriculum Theory from Penn State University and a Masters Degree in Creative Writing from the University of Cape Town. She is National Board Certified as an Early Childhood Generalist, Ages 3-8. She works as a teacher consultant with the Western PA Writing Project.
