Ryan Baxter

As the Director of District Support for New Tech Network (NTN), Ryan Baxter develops and provides professional development at learning events for district leaders, coaches district leadership teams focused on aligning their system to deeper learning outcomes, and co-designs new services and products for district leaders partnering with NTN.

After spending several years producing projects in the film, television, and advertising industries, Ryan Baxter began his over decade-long career with the New York City Department of Education. Starting as an English Language Arts teacher, he soon became part of the planning committee for a new Small Learning Community (school within a school). The success of the Art & Music Academy led to the opportunity to be part of the planning team for a new, small high school in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.

As a founder and Assistant Principal of Arts & Media Prep, Ryan helped to cultivate and maintain many partnerships for this new school, first with the Institute for Student Achievement, and in later years with New York City’s Innovation Zone (iZone) and New Tech Network (NTN), supporting the conversion of the school to the project-based learning model of instruction.

Upon moving to Pittsburgh, Ryan began working for New Tech Network as a School Development Coach, supporting teachers and school leaders in their implementation of the NTN model. Now as the Director of District Support for New Tech Network, Ryan brings his years of experience in systems thinking, leadership development, professional learning, organizational growth, and project-based learning to the districts and schools in New Tech’s network.
