The YWCA Westmoreland County is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. As part of this mission, the YWCA creates opportunities for women and girls to lead purposeful lives and strives for a community that values diversity. Since 1959, the YWCA has served Westmoreland County through programs such as:
- Early childhood education and child care
- STEM education for girls
- Social and economic justice advocacy
- Adult continuing education
- Racial justice
- Technology education and programs
- Health and wellness programs
- English-as-a-Second Language programs
- Economic justice programs (like the YWCA’s Thrift Shop and PA Workwear program)
