The Western Pennsylvania Writing Project works to improve the teaching and learning of writing in schools and communities throughout Allegheny, Washington, Greene, Fayette, Westmoreland, Beaver, Lawrence, and Butler counties. The Project engages teachers in their own writing and professional growth and increases opportunities for young people to develop their writing abilities.
The WPWP is a site of the National Writing Project, a member of the Pennsylvania State Writing Project Network, and a program of the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education.
