Western PA Community of Hope

HOPE empowers WIlkinsburg kids so that they and their community thrive

The Western Pennsylvania Community of HOPE (HOPE) is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that is founded and dedicated to creating an environment where in children, young adults, families, and members of the community are encouraged to make healthy choices that lead to a better and more sustainable life.  The organization was born out of an idea to fill an increasingly evident need in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania and the surrounding communities.

Once a thriving community, the beauty of the Wilkinsburg community has been masked by conditions brought on by brutal shifts in the economic, academic, and social landscapes.  This left many of the remaining citizens with a feeling of despair.  HOPE knows that, if given an opportunity to partner ‘hope’ with resources, the community and its people will once again, thrive.  HOPE believes that it can achieve this through the academic, cultural and personal development of its most vulnerable neighbors.  With strategic partnerships, a dedicated staff and a clear vision, considerable gains can and will be attained.
