The Playful Pittsburgh Collaborative is a group of committed organizations dedicated to advancing the importance of play in the lives of children, families, and communities in the Pittsburgh region. We work to educate decision-makers (from parents to legislators) in our region so that their choices support access to play for people of all ages; raise awareness that play is a critical element in the lives of people of all ages; and model (and inspire) through various activities the actions we hope our broader community will take in their daily lives.

The Playful Pittsburgh Collaborative embeds play-based ideologies throughout the Pittsburgh region through community conversations (informal lectures surrounding play topics), hosting the annual Ultimate Play Day, partnering in the development of the Hazelwood Play Trail, representing Pittsburgh in the KaBOOM! Playful City USA Play Leaders Summit, and translating the multi-dimensional “case for play”; among other projects and initiatives.
