In the summer of 2016, performers who, until then, orbited as distant objects in each other’s lives came crashing into a shared point of connected creativity. Jugglers, acrobats, fire performers, magicians, and more formed a new circus family offering The Iron City’s entertainment scene a performance concept like no other: The Pittsburgh Circus Arts Collaborative (PCAC).
Originally developed for wedding audiences, PCAC quickly became a popular recruit for birthday parties, fundraisers, corporate functions, and community events. Performers also earned credits as teachers and workshop leaders. In 2019, PCAC expanded its purview even further through the addition of an educational outreach initiative in which young audiences explore topics in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) through the creative drama experience that is the circus.
