For over 50 years, Penn State New Kensington has been a leader in providing a challenging educational environment where service to students is a top priority.
Located 20 miles north of Pittsburgh, we are one of 24 state-wide campuses that comprise Penn State, a comprehensive, student-centered, world-renowned research university, rich in history, educational success and alumni pride. Our students have access to more than 160 Penn State degree programs offered throughout the system. Whether you start at our campus and finish your studies at another campus, or stay at New Kensington to earn one of our nine bachelor’s or five associate degrees, you earn a Penn State degree that is recognized globally for its quality. Because we focus on teaching practical skills to prepare our students, a Penn State degree is the number one degree sought by company recruiters.
Penn State New Kensington offers a high-quality blend of academic programs, teaching, research, student support, scholarships and community engagement. Our bachelor’s degree programs are a major draw for incoming students. Eighty-six percent of our freshmen seek four-year degrees in Administration of Justice, Business, Communications, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, Informational Sciences Technology, Nursing, Organizational Leadership and Psychology (B.A. and B.S.). In addition, we offer unique associate degree programs, such as Radiological Sciences and Biomedical Engineering Technology. We are the only Penn State campus that grants an associate degree in biomedical engineering technology, and our program is one of only seven in the United States to be accredited by ABET.
