North Elementary School is a pre-k through 5th grade school located in Morgantown, WV. The school recently implemented a Makerspace for all grade levels to incorporate into their curriculum. Through this Makerspace, students and faculty are able to participate in structured and unstructured exploration using technology and non-tech items. North Elementary also is a recognized green school and has implemented a recycling program for both students and community members. Through this program, the school stocks their Makerspace with new items and stresses the importance of not only recycling, but also reusing items. In addition, North Elementary is a leader in garden-based learning and allows students the chance to learn about and grow their own food.
