Founded in 2007, the National Math and Science Initiative (NSMI) expands student access and achievement in rigorous public education, particularly in STEM courses and for students furthest from opportunity. NMSI’s work positions school systems and teachers as the agents of change and provides support, resources, and best practices to ensure all students can access and excel in rigorous programs, such as AP, without barriers. The non-profit’s programs are proven to prepare pre-service STEM teachers, empower current classroom leaders, change school systems and, most importantly, increase access and student outcomes.

NMSI is honored to serve Pennsylvania schools, teachers and students through public and private support, including funding from ExxonMobil and XTO Energy, and past funding from The Heinz Endowments and other donors.
