The Glen Montessori School provides a hands-on, self-directed learning environment for children eight weeks of age through the sixth grade.  Families, teachers, and administrators work in partnership to facilitate the individual development of each child using the Montessori Method.

Students at The Glen learn to think critically, work collaboratively, and act with confidence—a skill set for the twenty-first century.  The impressive achievements of the typical Montessori student are made possible by the child’s free access to a range of stimulating Montessori materials and a focus on cultivating independence. The elementary program, notable for both its academic rigor and the breadth of content, regularly participates in field trips, STEM activities, and service projects around our community.  Our upper elementary students run their own in-house coffee business and use the proceeds to travel each spring to participate in the Montessori Model United Nations program in New York City.

Located in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh, The Glen Montessori School was founded in 1986 by six parents who shared a vision of creating a Montessori School in the North Hills of Pittsburgh.   From 15 students, the school has grown to a community of over 230 students today, supported by a staff of 45 educators.
