Girls on the Run (GOTR) UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is hosted by Magee-Womens Hospital and is an affiliate council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 200 councils across 50 states and the District of Columbia. The mission of GOTR is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. GOTR UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital was established to serve girls in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, Mercer, Washington, Westmoreland, and Venango counties and has inspired more than 16,000 girls in western PA since they hit the ground running in 2001.
GOTR UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. They offer two after school programs in the fall and spring for rising 3rd-5th grade girls, followed by their own celebratory 5K event. They have also just launched the brand new Camp GOTR.
As part of GOTR, girls learn core values like confidence, care, competence, character, and connection in addition to practicing lifelong healthy habits to guide them in the years ahead.
