The Consortium for Public Education is a nonprofit organization that works with school districts across western Pennsylvania on initiatives strategically designed to strengthen and broaden school leadership, engage community and empower students. Concentrated in a seven-county area, the Consortium seeks to spark collaborations in other Pennsylvania communities and inform policy discussions at the state level.
As a member of the Public Education Network, based in Washington, D.C., the Consortium is 1 of 77 Local Education Funds (LEFs) bringing resources, improvements and community support to public schools. The Consortium is an advocate for excellence and equity in public education for all students. Their work is inspired and driven by an unshakable belief that public education is fundamental to a democratic society and that public schools are essential to economic vitality.
