Community Forge is a community center in Wilkinsburg, PA operating out of the former Johnston Elementary School. Much like its education and community-based roots, Community Forge strives to bring inclusive opportunity to the Wilkinsburg Community via education, arts, civics, health, inter-community relationships, and small business. Already Community Forge has four education non-profits and two youth arts organizations operating out of its facility. Community Forge also has an area dedicated to youth ownership and decision-making, which also houses enrichment programs for the kids in the immediate neighborhood. Through community and family events as well as the services provided by its tenants, Community Forge intends to be a hub of high-quality education programming that emphasizes STEM/arts infusion and incorporates democratic process.
