Founded in 2003, Commonwealth Charter Academy (CCA) is Pennsylvania’s largest K-12 public charter school and a family service organization with deep expertise in education. Headquartered at their Capital Campus location in Harrisburg, CCA has additional family service centers across the state, including their newest location at the Waterfront in Homestead, home to TechWorks. CCA delivers a personalized learning experience that engages the entire family and prepares learners to succeed in school and in life while transforming today’s learners into tomorrow’s leaders.
From the moment students enter the 7,000 square foot TechWorks facility at the CCA Pittsburgh Waterfront Family Service Center, they will engage in hands-on, real-world experiences. Within an accessible and flexible space, the facility easily and seamlessly integrates new technologies and practices. From cutting-edge robotic arms and quadruped dogs, to immersive and augmented reality experiences, learners push the boundaries between education and industry.
As CCA creates partnerships with businesses, industry, and educational organizations, they are developing pathways to credentials, certifications, internships, and apprenticeships. They are providing learners with the skills necessary to enter the workforce well prepared to succeed in whatever path they choose both locally in the Pittsburgh community or the state as a whole.
