Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg

The Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg provide out-of-school-time programs for 1000 youth annually. With a commitment to ensure each member is on track for HS Graduation with a plan for their future, the Club has created the FLUX Makerspace, a fully equipped Makerspace designed to teach youth ages 6-18 skills in Fine Arts; Electronics, Coding & Robotics; 2D Design & 3D Engineering; Digital Photography, Videography & Animation; Textiles & Sewing; & Music Making.

The Club offers both hands-on ‘pipeline’ courses (which allow members to experience the potential of the various technologies and provide youth a baseline understanding of how to get started) and open project time with adult guidance & mentoring for members to work on self-directed projects.

The Club also provides diverse programs in a huge variety of other subjects including health & fitness (sports, gardening, swimming, yoga,  cooking, rock climbing, and more),  academic success (homework help & mentoring) and good character (social skill development, volunteerism, citizenship, anti-bullying, etc).
