Arts Education Collaborative (AEC) was established with the goal of making the arts central to learning through collaboration, research, and advocacy. Evolving from the 1998 Arts Education Congress in Pittsburgh, AEC has supported the arts in the region for twenty years with professional learning and resources by and for arts educators and decision makers.
AEC’s professional learning opportunities range from a yearlong leadership intensive for educators, administrators, and artists who reach students, to engagements with school districts such as curriculum development. By partnering with arts and cultural organizations throughout the Pittsburgh area, AEC facilitates deep connections between teacher-leaders, teaching artists, and the organizations that support their work. All of AEC’s programs are supported by rigorous evaluation that tracks measurable outcomes and supports a process of continuous improvement.
