Traveling While Black is a cinematic virtual reality experience that immerses viewers in the long history of restriction of movement for black Americans and the creation of safe spaces in our communities.
The Trust Arts Education Department is offering a series of free Learning Labs around the film specifically for educators. The Learning Labs will provide creative opportunities to process the content in the film, dive deeper into the historical context surrounding it, and imagine future action steps for positive social change in and out of the classroom.
The series is free for educators and will take place in SPACE Gallery (812 Liberty Ave.) and the Trust Arts Education Center (805 Liberty Ave.).
Refreshments provided and ACT 48 credit available.
The Learning Labs will occur on the following dates and times:*
Wednesday, July 12, 4:30pm-6:30pm
Thursday, July 13, 4:30pm-6:30pm
Wednesday, July 19, 4:30pm-6:30pm
*Registrants must attend all three sessions to participate.
